Notes & Combos

Meowth and M2 are your floaters that get you 1-2 turns of setup for Gengar to see play. You'll most likely run into scenarios where youll be down two points. Gengar Ex usually carries when he comes down over any stage 1 and only really folds to a fully charged Charizard.

In the Pika matchup you want to hold potions to bypass the breakpoint at which pikachu can 2 shot GenEx. There shouldnt be a scenario where you're using a Sabrina unless its for the finish. Pika will have another floater to supplement pikaEx damage, finish the first pika and dont even bother with the second one thats trying to power up, Sabrina and finish the pokemon on the bench.

For this reason, this common play interaction may warrant cutting M2 for something less costly like Khan, if Pikachu continues to dominate. However if Pikachu continues to be a dominating deck, the Raichu variant of the deck becomes the more appealing build which has a higher supporter count, which this deck will do very well into.

In the M2 matchup, you're playing a game of attrition, when bouncing around damage towards the end when youre probably facing 2 M2 and a Garde, its important to have baby Gengar be the last thing to kill M2 with if possible while GenEx has the ability to still attack if baby gengar were to go down. Reason being is you want as little damage to gengar as possible because you Will be trading with a M2 at the least.
