Master Ball from on April 12th, 2025

Notes & Combos

This deck absolutely cooks. Fries Giratina, and Zone helps cover non-EX matchups. I played many decks throughout this climb, but this was the one that finally got me out of Ultra 3/4 purgatory and took me clean through to Master. Cleared the 2nd half of Ultra 3 with ease and made Ultra 4 a breeze!

Decks I used:

  • Beginner to Great 1: Articuno 18T
  • Great 1 to Great 3: Gyarados
  • Great 3 to Ultra 2: BeeMeow
  • Ultra 2 to Ultra 4: DarkTina - but could not stay in Ultra 4 with it coz of all the counter decks
  • Ultra 3 to Master: MeowZone

I generally prefer 1-1-1 or 1-1-2 prize structure in this game, and I think Zone is a much better partner for Meow than all of the other options at this moment, considering the meta near Master Ball. I think the key is to know when to use the Trainers; games can be won or lost in a single turn depending on whether you opt to use an early Sabrina to disrupt their buildup or save her for later, for instance. Just 1 move can completely change tempo. Also, not committing to Cape too early as that telegraphs your plays and forces you into a gamestate you can't reverse.

Ain't gonna suffer through this grind again, though. Back to Master Duel for me xD

Replays

Not my replays, but I took the list from this guy:

He just won a tourney with it too:

He provides commentary over the replays, so I'd rather let the original deckbuilder explain it. Kudos to the lad!
